Aric Tosqui
I am the Director of Security at Henry Ford Hospital and Medical Group, responsible for the Detroit hospital and several ambulatory sites in Southeastern Michigan. In my community, I serve on the Board of Directors of the Highland Lakes Condominium Association, and as a Member on Northville Township’s Brownfield Redevelopment Authority and the Economic Development Corporation.
In January of 2024, I retired from the Detroit Police Department as a Commander, after serving for nearly 28 years. I am a graduate of both the FBI National Academy and the Police Executive Research Forum’s Senior Management Institute for Police. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan Ann Arbor and earned a Master of Science Degree at the University of Cincinnati. In 2019, I graduated from the Wayne State University - Detroit Police Department Leadership Academy, an advanced Master of Business Administration Certificate program, and in 2022 I graduated from the Center for Homeland Security and Defense’s Executive Leaders Program.
I served as the President of the Detroit Police Command Officers Association from 2014 through 2020, and was their Vice-President from January 1, 2022, until the end of 2023. During my tenure, I was active in multiple labor organizations, including the National Association of Police Organizations, the Michigan Association of Police Organizations, and the Hispanic Police Officers Association of Michigan.
I became a Certified Nutrition Coach through the National Academy of Sports Medicine in 2021 and earned a Nutritionist Certification through the International Sports Sciences Association in 2022. In 2023, I completed the PN Level 1 Nutrition Certification through Precision Nutrition. I have been on a journey to aid first responders in improving their health and wellness through a variety of presentations, including seminars at the 2023 Michigan Department of Natural Resources Conference, the 2023 IACP Officer Safety and Wellness Symposium, the 2022 Michigan Sheriffs Association Conference, and the 2022 FBINAA Michigan Chapter Fall Conference.
I am a husband to Alaina, a father to Tristan, and in my off time, an avid foodie.
